Friends Fail

Psalms 41:9-13 CEV My most trusted friend has turned against me, though he ate at my table. 10. Have pity, LORD! Heal me, so I can pay them back. 11. Then my enemies won't defeat me, and I will know that you really care. 12. You have helped me because I am innocent, and you will always be close to my side. 13. You, the LORD God of Israel, will be praised forever! Amen and amen.

Luke 17:3-4 CEV So be careful what you do. Correct any followers of mine who sin, and forgive the ones who say they are sorry. 4. Even if one of them mistreats you seven times in one day and says, "I am sorry," you should still forgive that person.

Romans 12:14, 17, 19, 21 CEV Ask God to bless everyone who mistreats you. Ask him to bless them and not to curse them. 17. Don't mistreat someone who has mistreated you. But try to earn the respect of others, 19. Dear friends, don't try to get even. Let God take revenge. In the Scriptures the Lord says, "I am the one to take revenge and pay them back." 21. Don't let evil defeat you, but defeat evil with good.

2 Timothy 4:16-18 CEV When I was first put on trial, no one helped me. In fact, everyone deserted me. I hope it won't be held against them. 17. But the Lord stood beside me. He gave me the strength to tell his full message, so that all Gentiles would hear it. And I was kept safe from hungry lions. 18. The Lord will always keep me from being harmed by evil, and he will bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. Praise him forever and ever! Amen.
