"What Others Have Said About Me"
I was born with the given name of Patricia Kaye Mulligan, in Kankakee, Illinois (U.S.A.), August 23, 1953. My parents are Virgie (McIntosh) Mulligan, and the late James L. Mulligan. I am divorced, and have one daughter, Vinessa Kaye Jones, who is working on her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at an American Grad School. (I truly thank God for Vinessa! She has been such a special blessing in my life!)
I spent most of my life in and out of the entertainment field -- music, acting, producing, directing, and so forth, for stage, churches, radio, TV, videos, and so forth. During my teen years, I performed piano concerts for the late Leonard Bernstein's "Young Artists" organization. For several years, though, I have also been privately teaching Music (Voice, a variety of both American and foreign musical instruments, and music arranging), Creative Writing, Drama and Puppetry. For seven years I was a BMI music publisher, and am still a free lance music arranger and music printer. I've been a free lance writer/ghostwriter since I was about 16 years old -- different types of mostly Christian writings for various publications, and scriptwriting for radio, plays, puppet skits, and so forth. Also, I've free lance published some of my photography in some publications, and for various occasions.
Some people have asked why I'm called the "Prairie Parson." I was given this character name by international recording artist, Robert (Bob) Everhart, for the secular, international "Tradition" magazine that I write for, and he edits. With his permission, I then decided to call my ministry work "Prairie Parson Ministries."
I am a member of the Corning Church of the Nazarene (Corning, Arkansas -- North Arkansas District -- USA.) The Lord has had me involved in several types of ministries in several regular and mission churches. (One of my degrees is in Missions, from what is now known as Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee, in the USA.) A few examples of the types of ministries the Lord has had me involved with are Music, Writing/Ghostwriting/Journalism, Children and Youth, as well as Adults, Radio, Drama, Puppetry, Videos, Preaching, Missions, Counseling, Sunday School and Caravans Teaching, Conducting Bible Studies for Americans and a few Germans, Church Board Secretary, former County Co-ordinator for Rev. Pat Robertson's Christian Coalition, training students and church youth for music, drama, and/or puppetry for various churches in Arkansas and Missouri, and ministering to people involved with cults, occult, New Age Movement, or their families and/or friends who have been worried about them.
I love the Lord above all things. I want to do all that I can to help win others to the Lord, and to do whatever else He wants me to do. Jesus has performed so many miracles in my life, and in the lives of others. I have a long list of praise stories about what all Jesus has done for me and my family, as well as for others.
One example of a miracle was in October 2, 1999. I had a full-blown stroke at a rather early age, at our local Wal-Mart store. It is believed by many that I was "clinically dead." One minute I was in a tunnel-like thing, and also saw people around my lifeless body on the Wal-Mart floor. In another few minutes -- not sure of the exact time period -- I was being lifted up into a wheelchair. After many prayers, the Lord touched me. After the Lord sent me back, I was pretty much a basket case at first. Mom even had to feed me in the hospital, and I couldn't walk or raise up from the bed by myself. Then, overnight (many prayers later), the Lord performed a big miracle. The next morning I was not only sitting up in a chair, and walking some, but could feed myself. What a change! Ever since, I've felt the Lord lead me to do more work for Him, and to help other ministries when possible. This was one of many miracles that Jesus has performed in my life, and the lives of others.
Yes, I am a walking, talking, writing PROOF that God IS ALIVE, prayers really DO get ANSWERED, Jesus CAN meet ALL our needs, and He STILL performs MIRACLES! Praises be to the Lord Jesus Christ!!!
